This CA Community Is America's Richest Retirement Town: Ranking
The Golden State had the highest number of towns among the country's 50 richest, with 13 total on the list.
CALIFORNIA — Saratoga is the nation’s richest retirement town, according to a recent ranking from GOBankingRates, which found the Golden State had the highest number of towns among the country’s 50 richest, with 13 total on the list.
To determine the ranking, the personal finance website used U.S. Census American Community Survey data for cities with populations over 15,000 people and senior populations of 25 percent or higher. The ranking also includes median income and livability index, according to GOBankingRates.
Saratoga’s median household income is $241,348, the website reported. Other California towns in the top 10 include Ranchos Palos Verdes at No. 3 with a median income of $175,307 and Laguna Beach at No. 9 with a median of $140,508, according to the ranking.

Other California towns on the list were Walnut Creek at 11th, Cerritos at 12th, Fair Oaks at 27th, Rancho Mirage at 29th, Lincoln at 30th, Pacific Grove at 33rd, Los Osos at 41st, Arroyo Grande at 42nd, Cameron Park at 45th and La Quinta at 46th.
