California Twins Born In Different Years

DELANO, CA -- Last weekend, California welcomed a pair of twins to the world but they were born in different years. One twin, Joaquin Jr., was born in 2017, while the other, Aitana de Jesus, was born in 2018, according to KBAK.

KBAK reported that mother, Maria Esperanza Flores Rios, wasn't due until late January, but went into labor early.

"Hospital staff said the boy was the last baby born in 2017, and his twin sister was the first baby born in 2018.
Joaquin Jr. Ontiveros was born at 11:58 p.m. Dec. 31, 2017. He was 18 inches long and 5 pounds, 9 ounces.
Aitana de Jesus Ontiveros was born at 12:16 a.m. Jan. 1, 2018. She is 16½ inches long and 4 pounds, 10 ounces," KBAK reported.

To help the new parents, the hospital will donate $3,000 worth of supplies to the family, KBAK reported.
