California Wildfires: 18 Photos of Deadly McKinney Fire
Authorities have confirmed two bodies were found inside of a burned vehicle located in a wildfire zone in Northern California.

CALIFORNIA — The deadly McKinney Fire in the Klamath National Forest continues to grow, Cal Fire reported Monday afternoon, with 55,493 acres burned, according to the latest mapping. The fire is in far Northern California near the Oregon border. It's the state's largest wildfire of the year so far. By comparison, the Oak Fire near Yosemite National Park, which had been this year's largest, has burned 19,244 acres.
On Sunday morning two bodies were found inside a burned vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence located in the wildfire zone, according to a statement released by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition, Adrienne Freeman, a spokesperson for the U.S. Forest Service, said that nearly 5,000 homes and other structures in the area are threatened. There is zero containment.
The fire sparked on Friday.

Torched trees can be seen along Route 96, as flames race up the hillside filled with homes.
