California Wine Regions Dominate '10 Best' USA Today Nominations
Wine countries from NorCal to SoCal are in the running for top 10 status. Have a favorite? Cast your vote online.

CALIFORNIA — Congrats, California wine countries!
Golden State grape-growing communities, including Sonoma, Lodi, Monterey, Mendocino, Napa, Paso Robles and Temecula, are among 20 nationwide to be nominated by USA Today as contenders for 10Best Readers’ Choice for “Best Wine Region.”
The 20 nominees, selected by wine-industry experts, will be whittled down to the top 10 via readers' online voting, which ends Monday, Aug. 2 at 9 a.m.

The 2021 competition is stiff, particularly among California regions.
In the running for "Best 10" from the Golden State: Anderson Valley; Lodi; Mendocino; Napa Valley; Paso Robles; Russian River Valley; Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County; Sonoma Coast; and Temecula Valley; along with Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California.

Other wine regions selected from across the U.S. are in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Texas, Virginia and Washington, plus one from Canada.
"It has been a difficult year, but we've risen above its challenges, and we are proving our resilience and perseverance," said Visit Temecula Valley President and CEO Kimberly Adams.
