WEST SACRAMENTO, CA—After several months of training, the California Highway Patrol welcomed six newly graduated K-9 officers to its force Friday.

A ceremony was held at the CHP's canine training facility in West Sacramento, signifying the beginning of a noteworthy public safety collaboration for K-9 units and their respective handlers.

The CHP congratulated one Explosive Detection Canine team and five Patrol and Narcotics Detection Canine teams on successfully completing the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training requirements.
