Benji and Leo have worked together to create a student-run STEM club for their fellow schoolmates at The Saklan School. The SIGMA Club (Science, Innovation, Game development, Math, Activities) is about exploring new ideas and engaging in hands-on learning in a fun, supportive environment. Benji and Leo create the lesson plans and work with adults to get all the necessary supplies to bring their lessons to life. They have held two meetings to date, in the first, they taught other students how to code, and in the second meeting, they looked at chemical reactions and non-Newtonian fluids by making slime. This club was completely the idea of Leo and Benji, and they meet outside of school hours to make it happen. Their leadership has been tremendous and their fellow students look forward to the SIGMA meetings.
