Creek Fire: Redding Blaze Scorches Through 1,300 Acres
Sheriff's officials said they believe the fire is "suspicious in nature."
SHASTA COUNTY, CA -- A fire that erupted in Shasta County on Sunday and forced the evacuation of dozens of neighborhoods is "suspicious in nature," officials said. As of Monday morning, the blaze, dubbed the "Creek Fire," burned 1,300 acres and was 30 percent contained.
Shasta County Sheriff's Office said the fires that erupted were suspicious and asked the public for help in finding a vehicle that may be connected to the suspect. Deputies are searching for an older 1990s gold or tan mini van.
Anyone who may see the vehicle or have information was urged to call the Sheriff's Office at (530)245-6540.

The fire was one of several to erupt in Northern California. The largest fire that was still burning Monday was the Pawnee Fire in Lake County, which burned roughly 7,700 acres.
