Domino's Pizza South Lake Tahoe Pizza Delivery Debacle

I ordered a pizza from Domino's Pizza in South Lake Tahoe and never received my pie and the chain has not handled any refunds weeks later.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - I visited Lake Tahoe for a quick visit last month on October 14 and managed to catch some beautiful autumn leaves and enjoy the views. During my stay I ordered a $26+ pizza for delivery to my hotel from Domino's Pizza located at 987 Edgewood Cir. and used the Domino's Pizza app for the first time in years. I watched as the driver came closer to my location and never delivered my pizza, but marked it delivered on the app.

Shocked that this happened (it has never happened to me before when ordering pizza), I was unable to call the pizza place as it closed that night during the delivery window. I immediately called the next morning multiple times and left messages, but the manager never returned my calls. I ended up biking by the location and stopped inside and talked to employees. Once again the manager was not there and they wrote down my number and said I would get a call. I never did.

I kept following up and then contacted corporate. Still no reply from Domino's Pizza or the store. I decided to DM Domino's Pizza on Twitter (X) and finally received a response from corporate. They said the manager had attempted to contact me (he hasn't). I told them I had not received and anything and remained available to discuss with him. I still have not received any communication days later.

If I would have just ordered the pizza on Uber Eats or DoorDash, I could have refunded the money from them. This exposes a modern day problem with delivery apps where restaurants themselves are not being accountable to deliveries and where customer service lines are non-existent. I had to go to Twitter (X) to get any type of response from the corporation.

If you are a tourist in Lake Tahoe, I recommend staying far away from this Domino's location. As for me, I will not stop until I am answered, but Domino's is clearly not trying to win back any customers. As a consumer, I have never been so frustrated. As a traveler, there is nothing worse than feeling conned when you are tired after a long day and order food in a place that is unfamiliar.
