Ellen Degeneres Hit With Lawsuit; Accused Of T-Boning Driver: Reports
The suit comes after the television personality was accused of running a stop sign and causing a car crash.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Longtime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has been hit with a lawsuit accusing her of negligence after she was involved in a car crash in California nearly two years ago.
The suit, obtained by People, details a crash that unfolded on Oct. 16, 2023, when DeGeneres reportedly ran a stop sign while driving in Santa Barbara County and "t-boned" another vehicle, injuring the driver, the suit alleges.
According to court documents cited by People, the woman who filed the lawsuit states that the intersection where the crash occurred was controlled by stop signs in all directions.

The plaintiff said she stopped at a stop sign and made sure no other cars were present before driving forward. That's when DeGeneres "suddenly and without any warning" crashed into her and "t-boned" her vehicle, the suit says.
The plaintiff accused DeGeneres of exhibiting "negligent conduct [that] fell below the standard of care of a reasonable person," and that “negligently caused, or contributed to causing plaintiff's vehicle to be collided with by the defendants' vehicle.”
