Fire Kills California Child Squatting In Storage Unit
Three other people were injured in the Bakersfield fire.

BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A child living in a California storage unit was killed early Wednesday morning after the building caught fire. Three other people were injured in the Bakersfield fire, Kern County Fire Department said.
The incident was reported at 12:41 a.m. in the 1200 block of Sterling Road. Firefighters and deputies at the scene evacuated three members of one family who were squatting in the storage area, fire officials said.
As the fire was being extinguished, the deceased child was discovered, fire officials said.
