LOTUS, CA — As her owners frantically searched for her, Luna — a dog with a bird’s-eye view — watched from a pine tree at least 25 feet in the air, according to reports.

The 10-month-old German Shepherd-Labrador mix was let out around 7 a.m. Sunday onto her owner’s 10-acre property in the El Dorado County community of Lotus, according to the Mountain Democrat. But when she didn’t return later that morning, Becky and Brian Spies started to worry, reports said.

They looked for her all day, according to KCRA. The Mountain Democrat reported Becky stayed up all night calling for her.

The next day, she was spotted by family friend Luka Bogdanovich, KCRA reported.

“I see something in the tree, and I went, ‘Holy cow, that’s the dog,’” Bogdanovich told the outlet.

Brian, a painter, brought a 24-foot ladder to rescue the 50-pound pup, according to the Mountain Democrat.

“I had to bear hug her and walk down the ladder with no hands,” he told KCRA.

Fortunately, it’s all’s well that ends well for Luna and her family, who are now happily reunited, according to reports, although how she got in the tree remains a mystery.
