Lost CA Cat Found 9 Years Later, In Idaho: Report

Her heartbroken owner was certain she would never see her cat, Harriet, again. Then, the cat turned up in another state.

CLOVIS, CA — Susan Moore was heartbroken when her tabby cat Harriet wandered away from her ranch in Clovis, California nearly a decade ago.

After scouring her 41-acre ranch, Moore registered with HomeAgain.com, a recovery service for lost pets. Her husband suggested that Harriet may have been attacked by a coyote, the Washington Post reported.

“I was really bonded to this cat," she told the Post.

Nine years later, on Sept. 19, she got a call from an animal shelter, informing her they had found her cat — in Hayden, Idaho. The worker who spoke to more, told her she had scanned Harriet's microchip.

However Harriet made it to Idaho, remains a mystery, the Post reported.
