STOCKTON, CA — Several people were injured Saturday night in a shooting at a birthday party at a Dairy Queen in Stockton, authorities and reports said.
The shooting happened on the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

The shooting happened during a children's birthday party, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, quoting Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee.
An “ice cream shop should never be a place where families fear for their lives," Lee told the Chronicle.

Photos shared by ABC10 in Sacramento showed police outside a Dairy Queen and witness video shared on Instagram showed a massive law enforcement presence at the Dairy Queen.
The sheriff's office did not give details about the victims except to say several had been taken to local hospitals.
"This remains an active scene, and deputies are working to gather additional details. Information is still being confirmed and will be released as it becomes available," the sheriff's office said.
"Please stay out of the area," the statement posted on X said.
