CALIFORNIA — No tricks, just treats are in store for families this Halloween at restaurants across the state.

From Halloween freebies to limited-time treats, here's a look at family-friendly promotions that eateries are offering this spooky season.

Applebee's locations owned and operated by Flynn Group are offering a "Kids Eat Free" special on Halloween. Customers can get two free kids' meals with the purchase of an adult entrée. The dine-in only deal is limited to two children, 12 years old and younger, per adult. Kids can choose from a variety of entrées from the Applebee's kids' menu, accompanied by their choice of a side dish, as well as milk, chocolate milk or juice. Diners must mention the deal. See a list of the participating locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California.

Additionally, Applebee's is offering free boneless wings with any $40 online order on Halloween. The deal is available through the Applebee's website or mobile app only. Use the promo code SCARY24 at checkout.

Chipotle

Chipotle is bringing back the Boorito. Chipotle Rewards members can get an entrée for only $6 when wearing a Halloween costume to a participating Chipotle location. The in-store deal is available starting at 3 p.m. to close on Halloween. There is a limit of one discounted item per customer.

The Boo-Tacular Halloween celebration runs through Halloween at Chuck E. Cheese. The event features free candy every night, Haunted House dance parties and 500 bonus e-tickets to kids dressed in costume. Chuck E. Cheese is also offering themed menu items, including Pumpkin-Shaped Pepperoni Pizza, Dippin' Dots Eye Scream and a Slime Cookie.

Fatburger

Fatburger is offering a sweet treat for Halloween. Customers can get a free chocolate chip cookie with any purchase made in-store or online through the Fatburger website. Customers must mention the promo in store or use the code TrickOrTreat24 at checkout.

IHOP

Treat the kids to pancakes at IHOP. Through Halloween, kids ages 12 and younger can build their own Scary Face Pancake for free with the purchase of an adult entrée. The deal is available for dine-in customers only.

Joe's Crab Shack

Kids meals are only 99 cents on Halloween at Joe's Crab Shack. Children dressed in costume will get a $.99 Kids Meal with the purchase of an adult entrée. The deal is limited to one kids meal for each adult entrée.

Johnny Rockets

Johnny Rockets is offering something sweet for the holiday. Through Halloween, customers can get a free chocolate chip cookie with any in-store purchase at participating locations. Diners must mention the promo.

McDonald's

The iconic Happy Meal Boo Buckets are back while supplies last at McDonald's. Trough Halloween, Happy Meals will come in pails with white, orange, green and blue Monster designs. The buckets come with themed stickers so kids can customize their pails.

Pieology

Pieology is offering double the perks — no tricks — for perks members on Halloween. Pies & Perks members get two free perks when they order a craft-your-own-pizza, calzone or salad in-store or online. Rewards members who don't already have Pies & Perks status can unlock it by making a craft-your-own-pizza, calzone or salad purchase on Halloween and still get double the perks.

Rubio's

Rubio's is offering spooktacular savings on Halloween. Every burrito on the menu will be $8.99 for Rubio's Rewards members, all day long. Customers can order online, through the app, or scan their in-app QR code at the register.

Salt & Straw

Kids in costume get a free ice cream scoop on Halloween at Salt & Straw. The deal is available for kids under 16.

The ice cream company's "Scoops & Skulls Series," available through Halloween, offers five unique flavors, incorporating housemade candies, pumpkin and even real bugs from Don Bugito. Flavors include Blackberry and Masa Tamale Sherbet, Essence of Ghost, Jack o' Lantern Pumpkin Bread, The Great Candycopia and Don Bugito's Creepy Crawly Critters — matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and crunchy chocolate crickets.

Smashburger

Get a $50 e-gift card and score a digital coupon for a free burger this Halloween at Smashburger. The flash sale is available Oct. 30-31. The free burger can be redeemed online only from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5.

Wendy's

Boo! Books are back at Wendy's. Customers can buy a $1 Boo! Book that will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Customers who buy a book will also get five free Jr. Frosty coupons and another coupon for a $1.99 Kids' Meal with any purchase.

Additionally, Wendy's is offering a limited-edition Boo! Bag meal, featuring a Dave's Single, small fry, small chocolate Frosty, glow-in-the-dark Bone Chiller Frosty figure and a Boo! Book. Kids can get a Frosty Frights kids' meal, featuring their choice of a hamburger or cheeseburger or four-piece chicken nuggets with fries or apple bites and a drink.
