These Are The Best And Worst CA Cities For Staycations

Only one city in the Golden State ranked among the top 10 best cities in the country for staycations, according to a study from WalletHub.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Thinking about a staycation this summer? Some Californians don't have to travel far for fun.

WalletHub recently ranked the best and worst cities for staycations in the country, and three major California cities made the top 50. One of the cities landed in the top 10.

"It's fun to visit an exotic location on vacation, but during rougher economic times, a staycation can save you a lot of money while being just as memorable," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said. "Not only do you avoid the cost of overnight accommodations and minimize travel costs, but you can also discover all kinds of fun activities close to home that you might not have tried out otherwise. Plus, you'll feel more rested if you spend less time in transit and more time sleeping in your own bed."
