Violent Customers Throw Items, Climb On Counter At CA Chipotle

VALLEJO, CA — Customers at a Chipotle in the Bay Area recently turned violent in an incident captured on video.
The recording, posted on TikTok late last week by user quali_tee_392, shows one person standing atop the checkout counter throwing items toward the back of the restaurant and another person appearing to reach over the sneeze guard in the serving area and hurl things.
The video has been viewed nearly 600,000 times and is accompanied by the text, “When they give you a half of scoop of chicken at the #chipotle in Vallejo, Ca.” as well as the hashtags #chipotle and #portionsize.

Vallejo police confirmed to KTVU they were aware of the incident and looking into it.

The altercation follows a recent TikTok trend that involves Chipotle customers filming the workers making their orders with the intent of pressuring the employees into giving larger portions. The trend developed after influencers complained about serving sizes at the fast-casual chain.
