Watch: Hiker Plummets 100+ Feet, Clings To Coastal CA Cliff
The injured hiker was clinging with hiking poles to the cliff, 60 feet above a second unstable cliff, authorities said.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — Two hikers — including one who fell more than 100 feet and suffered a dislocated shoulder — were recently rescued in Northern California’s King Range National Conservation Area, according to authorities.
The Shelter Cove Fire Department responded around 2:30 p.m. Saturday to the incident near Miller Flat, deploying a rescue boat and jet ski to reach the hikers, who were roughly eight miles north of Shelter Cove.
The injured hiker was clinging with hiking poles to a cliff, 60 feet above a second unstable cliff, authorities said. Video and photos of the situation were shared on social media by the fire department.

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter rescued the injured hiker and the second hiker, who was off a deer and game trail and was not hurt, according to authorities. Both were taken to ambulances.
