Agoura Hills Ranks Among Top City-Like Suburbs In U.S.: Report
Agoura Hills was ranked the 13th best city-like suburb in the U.S. based on factors like job opportunities and entertainment.

AGOURA HILLS, CA —Agoura Hills ranks among the best city-like suburbs in the U.S., according to a report by StorageCafe.
Agoura Hills ranked 13th on the list, following neighboring suburb Calabasas at the number five slot. The only other California town to make the list was Laguna Beach at number 18.
The ranking, created by storage space marketplace StorageCafe, reflects how conducive a suburb is to a city-like lifestyle, meaning it is "amenity-rich" with housing, entertainment and job opportunities.

The company ranked suburbs with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 based on factors like median household income, housing affordability, employment opportunities, population density, the local public school system and more.
Agoura Hills ranked highly partially because it has a high ratio of businesses, restaurants and stores to residents: per 1,000 residents, the city has 72 businesses, 3.9 retail stores and 2.8 restaurants, according to StorageCafe.

The city has high household incomes, StorageCafe reported, with more than half of Agoura Hills households making over $123,000 a year.
The company also noted the high quality of the Las Virgenes Unified School District and, of course, the vast open space in the city.
"Spending time outdoors is easy and pleasant here. You have access to parks, hiking trails and recreational areas — all set against the scenic backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains and Simi Hills. Agoura Hills boasts over 1,200 square feet of park space per resident," the company wrote in their ranking.
