Agoura Hills Widow Sues the Estate of Man She Blames for Her Husband's Death

The suit alleges Lloyd Farber was driving at an unsafe speed and deliberately turned off the car traction control system in the fatal crash.

LOS ANGELES, CA - The widow of a man who died when the sports car he was riding hit a tree and burst into flames near Santa Clarita last year is suing the estate of the driver of the vehicle, who also was killed in the crash.

Gayle Silva, 62, of Agoura Hills filed the lawsuit Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court against the estate of Lloyd Farber and Farber's widow, Judith. Farber's wife was the co-owner with her husband of the 2014 Corvette that crashed, according to the negligence suit, which seeks unspecified damages.

A representative for the Farber estate could not be immediately reached.

The suit states that Ray Silva, 69, of Porter Ranch was a passenger in the car driven by the 66-year-old Lloyd Farber, who lost control of the car while traveling at a high speed at about 10:50 a.m. last April 18 on Bouquet Canyon Road. Ray Silva died in the ensuing fire, but the suit does not state how Lloyd Farber perished.

The suit alleges that Lloyd Farber was driving at an unsafe high speed and that he deliberately turned off the Corvette's traction control system, causing the car to become unstable and unsafe.
