Borderline Bar Torn Down 5 Years After Mass Shooting That Killed 12
Workers began tearing down the Borderline almost exactly five years after a gunman opened fire on 12 people at the restaurant.
THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The long-closed Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks is being demolished five years after the mass shooting that killed 12 people and shocked the community.
Workers began tearing down the old restaurant at the beginning of November, close to the Nov. 7 anniversary of the day a gunman opened fire on 12 people before turning the gun on himself.

The Borderline has been closed since the mass shooting and the business's owners opened up a new location in Agoura Hills just a year later. The Borderline Saloon in Agoura Hills is currently closed, and the owners intend to relocate according to the restaurant's website.
According to the Pacific Coast Business Times, the owner of the property was issued a demolition permit for the Thousand Oaks location months ago. There are currently no plans for future development, officials told the Business Times.
