Middle School Scores High in International Math Contest
Lindero Canyon Middle School received high rankings in the annual Math League contest.
received high scores in the prestigious international Math League testing, which took place in February.
According to the rankings, sixth grade finished 14th out of 111 schools in the competition, seventh grade ranked 6th out of 95 schools, and eighth grade came in at 24 out of 102 schools.
According to the contest website, the Math League has contests for Grades 4 through 8, Algebra 1 students, and high school students. Over one million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League Contests each year, said the site.

The goal is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems, according to the site.
Students Jeffrey Braun and Jackson Terry ranked 17th out of all the students competing in the seventh grade level.

In Agoura’s specific region, called “Los Angeles NW, Los Angeles SE, Los Angeles SW,” Lindero’s sixth grade placed at number two; the seventh grade took first place and eighth grade placed third.
Cameron Kissler, sixth grade, was ranked third in the region; Jeffrey Braun and Jackson Terry, both seventh graders, were ranked second in the region; and Josh Pattiz, an eighth grade, ranked fourth.
