Motorist Struck By Traffic on Ventura Freeway

The man had stepped out of his disabled vehicle and was hit by traffic. He has been taken to Los Robles Hospital.

A man was struck by traffic early Saturday afternoon as he worked on his disabled vehicle on the Ventura Freeway, just west of Reyes Adobe Road.

Officer Posada of the California Highway Patrol told Patch that "It turned out to be a three-vehicle major injury collision." She said that the CHP received the report at 12:28 p.m. A situation update is pending.

CHP Officer Ed Jacobs said that the motorist was airlifted to hospital.

"'The person was breathing, but he was bleeding from the head profusely,'" he said.

Captain David Leary of on Canwood Street, Agoura Hils, told Patch that he was part of the responding unit.

"We were on the scene. He was hit by another car, and we rushed him over to Los Robles [Hospital]. They were working on him when we left," he said.

Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks has not released any information on the accident at this time.
