Phone Scam: Agoura Hills Authorities Warn Of Bogus Calls

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Residents have received bogus calls claiming to be from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills station, authorities said.

The scam calls often show up with caller ID from the Lost Hills station and tell residents they have outstanding warrants or are due in court, according to the station. Authorities would never do this, the station said. Any communication about court appearances will come in the mail on official letterhead.

The sheriff's station also reminded residents they will never request payment or financial information over the phone.
