HOLLYWOOD, CA — A driverless taxi briefly froze while trying to navigate around the scene of an apartment fire in Hollywood Monday night, according to a report.

Video aired by KTLA shows the Waymo vehicle at the scene of the fire, which broke out at a building near Melrose and Van Ness avenues in Hollywood before 11 p.m. Monday.

Authorities had set up flares on the road to prevent motorists from driving through the area — but the Waymo didn't abide by that signal. It drove past the flares and stopped shortly after in the middle of the road. It eventually made a U-turn about a minute later, KTLA reported.
