Former Stage Door Theater Demolished In Agoura Hills
The former Stage Door Theater in Agoura Hills was demolished earlier this week, a decision met with disappointment from residents.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — The former Stage Door Theater, located at 28311 Agoura Road, was demolished earlier this week.
The current owner of property applied for a demolition permit in late February, according to the city of Agoura Hills. The owner has not yet submitted plans to reconstruct the building.
The city could not stop the demolition request, according to Mayor Deborah Klein Lopez. The city used its normal channels to consider the building for preservation given the site's historical residence to the city, it said in a statement. This process includes "exhaustive state and federal measures" to determine whether the building should be spared from demolition.

Mayor Deborah Klein Lopez said in a Tweet she is "extremely sad" that the building was demolished and worked to keep the building up. City council will consider local protections for such properties during their upcoming goal setting workshop on March 9.
