5th Victim Dies In Family Massacre: Police
A 1-year-old toddler who was shot last week has died, police reported Monday. His 6-year-old brother was also killed.
ALAMEDA, CA — The lone survivor of a family massacre in Alameda last week that claimed four other family members has lost his fight to live. Alameda Police said Monday that 1-year-old Wesley has died.
Wesley was shot along with his 6-year-old brother, his mother, and her parents at the family home. According to police, they all died at the hand of Shane Killian, 54. Police have not disclosed a motive for why Killian allegedly killed his wife, children and in-laws.
The shooting happened at 9 p.m. last Wednesday in the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road, a tidy neighborhood of single family homes.
Killian was taken into custody immediately after the shootings.
"Last week’s horrific incident continues to deeply affect community members," police said in a statement on Monday. "At a daytime vigil that took place Sunday, July 14, Reverand Laura Rose shared how important it is to connect with community members and be there for people who need support."
