Alameda Parking Garage Improvements Underway

The downtown Civic Center Parking Garage on Oak Street is undergoing safety and convenience improvements.

ALAMEDA, CA — If you use the downtown Civic Center Parking Garage on Oak Street in Alameda, the City has completed some improvement projects with more on the drawing board for this year.

Recently Completed Improvements:

  • Repaired elevator
  • Upgraded stairwell lights to LED for better visibility
  • Installed temporary fencing on the 1st and 5th floors to deter unwanted activity

  • The garage will be closed overnight to reduce vandalism. Please take this short survey about closing times.
  • The top floor will be reserved for City use only to prevent loitering.
  • Fencing on floors 2-5 will be installed for added security.
  • The interior of the garage and stairwells will be repainted to increase luminosity and create a brighter, more welcoming environment.
  • Parking kiosks on the 1st floor will be upgraded for mobile payments.
  • An upgraded parking guidance system will be installed to improve occupancy management.
