14-Year-Old Battered While Walking To School: Albany Police
A 14-year-old was battered Tuesday morning on Evelyn Avenue in Albany, police say. Police are providing extra patrols.
ALBANY, CA — A 14-year-old was sexually battered as they walked to school Tuesday morning, Albany police say.
The victim was approached by the suspect near the intersection of Brighton and Evelyn avenues, and battered on the 400 block of Evelyn, according to a police report.
The victim described the suspect as a Black male adult 40-50 years old, bald, of medium build, with a black and gray stubble beard. The suspect was reportedly wearing a blue jacket and gray sweatpants.

Police are actively investigating the incident, and will provide more information when it becomes available. In the meantime, police say they are providing extra patrols for routes children may take traveling to and from school.
