Albany Child Allegedly Assaulted Walking To School: Report
Albany police are investigating a report that a child was assaulting last week on their way to Cornell Elementary School.

ALBANY, CA — Albany police are investigating the alleged assault of an elementary school student walking to school, KTVU reported.
On Friday, the Albany Unified School District sent an email to parents warning them that a student at Cornell Elementary School was assaulted while walking to school. The superintendent said that the incident is under police investigation, and more information will be provided when available. Families were also advised to walk in groups and make sure that students are always accompanied by an adult.
Brennan Brown, a spokesperson for the City of Albany, told KTVU that the Albany Police Department received reports of an assault against a student the morning of Thursday, March 30, and police are actively investigating the incident, conducting additional interviews, and providing extra patrols around the schools. Albany Unified Schools are observing their spring vacation until Friday.
