Clean Water Program Accepting Albany Grant Applications

ALBANY, CA — The Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program is now accepting applications for its Community Stewardship Grants, offering up to $6,000 per project to support Albany grassroots initiatives that prevent stormwater pollution and promote the health of local watersheds, creeks, and the San Francisco Bay.

Projects must be implemented within Alameda County, and the application deadline is May 9.

How to Apply

Applicants can download the application packet and budget worksheet template through the links provided by the Clean Water Program. Submissions must be completed online via Google Form, following the instructions in the application packet.

Eligible Projects

Grant funding is available for a variety of environmental projects, including:

• Litter reduction efforts, such as creek and coastal cleanups
• Outreach and education programs focused on watershed awareness, proper hazardous waste disposal, litter prevention, and non-toxic pest management
• Development and distribution of outreach materials, such as videos, newsletters, and online content
• Public art projects with environmental themes
• Community engagement events promoting clean water initiatives
• Creekside restoration and wildlife habitat enhancement
• Stormwater detention projects, such as rainwater catchment and rain gardens
