An atmospheric river slammed into the San Francisco Bay Area on Tuesday, causing flooding, power outages, a landslide, and havoc on the roads, including a full closure of US 101 in Sonoma County. A person in San Francisco was injured by a falling tree, according to the fire department. An update on their condition is not immediately available.
A flood watch remains in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday.
As of 3 p.m., about 27,000 PG&E customers in Northern and Central California were without power.
The brunt of the storm hit the North Bay.
