Missing Albany Woman Found Safe (Updated)
Lucy Karanja, 59, had last been seen Monday at around 12:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Liberty Street.

Updated Tuesday at 9:05 a.m.: Lucy Karanja has been found safe and is with family, the El Cerrito Police Department said Tuesday in an 8:50 a.m. alert. The agency thanked the public in helping locate the missing Albany woman.
EL CERRITO, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a missing Albany at-risk woman last seen early Monday afternoon in El Cerrito, police said.
Lucy Karanja, 59, was last seen at around 12:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Liberty Street, the El Cerrito Police Department said.

Karanja suffers from early dementia, according to police.
She is a 5-foot-2 black woman who weighs 180 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, police said. Karanja wears her hair in shoulder length braids. She was last seen wearing a red and yellow floral print dress.
