• Caribbean Fruit Fly Detected in Los Angeles County, Quarantine Announced (coloradoboulevard.net) — Alhambra sits right on the northern edge of a new 75‑square‑mile quarantine zone after Caribbean fruit flies were detected in nearby Montebello. State agriculture officials are restricting movement of homegrown produce and using targeted treatments to protect local yards and California’s crops. Residents are urged to check the CDFA map to see if they’re inside the quarantine area.
