Scavenger Run in Laguna Hills Offers Free Beer

Here are five things to keep you informed about Aliso Viejo and Orange County Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013.
- Sarah the cocker spaniel needs a home. The 8-year-old would do well as the only dog in a quiet home with the love and attention she deserves, according to the Pet Rescue Center.
- A 60-minute scavenger run is coming to Laguna Hills, created by Road Runner Sports. The Thursday, Sept. 5 event at 6 p.m. is free. Pre-register for one free beer.
- Soka University has announced a new Master of Arts program in Educational Leadership and Societal Change that will open in August 2014. The school started taking applications for the new degree this month.
- Mayor Carmen Cave and the Aliso Viejo Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for this year's State of the City address Sept. 21. Tickets for the 6:30 p.m. reception and address are $20. Stay for the 8 p.m. performance by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet for $35.
- Comedian Bobby Slayton performs at 8 p.m. at the Improv at the Irvine Spectrum, 71 Fortune Drive.
