Is Aliso Viejo the Best Holiday City?

A few parties and a suspicious clown leads to a quiet Halloween in Aliso Viejo.

A clown was detained on Halloween night after a caller reported the suspicious subject in a blue convertible. The call was made around 7:37 p.m. near Pursuit and Monstad Street.

Police investigated the situation and concluded that the mask was part of the subject's Halloween costume.

The rest of the evening was relatively quiet with a few calls made concerning music or party disturbances.

"A lot of parties and juveniles being noisy," said Sgt. D.J. Haldeman with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. "Just another routine Halloween in Aliso Viejo. Pretty quite."

Which brings me to the question, is Aliso Viejo the best holiday city?

My husband and I took our 13 month old daughter Trick-or-Treating for the first time Monday night in Aliso Viejo. We started the candy collecting tour around 6 p.m. It was quiet, with a scattering of little princesses and ghosts collecting their goodies.

Our little monkey's feet and eyes grew tired about an hour later and we headed home. By that time the older witches, Storm Troopers and firemen filled the streets.

We couldn't have asked for a safer, simpler experience and we're pleased to find a quiet evening at home with no loud parties nearby.
