30th Victim Of LA Wildfires Discovered In Altadena
Questions remain about the discovery of the latest victims months after the Eaton Fire blackened 14,021 acres.

ALTADENA, CA — Authorities Wednesday discovered human remains in Altadena believed to be the 18th victim of the Eaton Fire.
Special Operation Response Team investigators came across the remains in the 900 block of Boston Street, near Lake Avenue, on Wednesday.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the body.

The Eaton Fire started on Jan. 7, killing 18 people, destroying about 9,414 structures and damaging 1,074 more. It burned for nearly a month and scorched 114,021 acres .
Thousands were forced to flee their homes with little or no notice. Many of the people who perished in the blaze were seniors and people with disabilities as well as those who stayed behind to try to save their home from the flames.

Between the Eaton and Palisades Fires, 30 people died in LA's January wildfires.
The causes of both fires, among the deadliest in Southern California history and the most expensive in U.S. history, remains under investigation.
