The ranking officer at the Altadena Sheriff's Station, Capt. John Benedict, will host a public event at Perry's Joint in Pasadena on July 19. The event, called "Coffee With the Captain," is a chance for members of the public to raise issues with Benedict or just stop by to say hello.  Benedict and past captains have held similar events periodically in town. The event is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday July 19. Perry's Joint is at 2051 N. Lincoln Avenue, just south of the intersection with Woodbury Road.
