ALTADENA, CA — Altadena families in need won’t have to worry about Thanksgiving dinner this year, thanks to a free giveaway being held this Saturday at Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church.

The church has partnered with the Rodney King Foundation, Eradicate the Hate, Side Street Project and My Tribe Rise to give away turkeys and hams to families in the area. The limit is one turkey or ham per household, organizers said.

The church will also have groceries, home goods and other gifts on hand for the giveaway. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, according to organizers.
