Disaster Preparedness Meeting on Sunday

Residents from north of Loma Alta from N. Fair Oaks to Lake Ave are invited to an organizational meeting Sunday for neighborhood disaster preparedness.

Community volunteers working with the Sheriff's Department will be meeting this Sunday to discuss Altadena's disaster preparedness plan.

The meeting will be specifically for residents north of Loma Alta from N. Fair Oaks to Lake Ave. and the cul-de-sacs of Parkman St. and Alta Pine Dr, according to community volunteer Holly Rundberg.

The volunteer team, working with the Sheriff's Department, divided in 11 zones which Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers will work within in the event of a disaster.

The neighborhood meeting on Sunday will be for Zone 4.

Rundberg wrote in an email that the goal for the first meeting is "to familiarize the Zone 4 residents with what our plans are for disaster preparation and to begin an e-mail list so we can communicate when a disaster occurs."
