Who’s standing watch over democracy and women’s right – and responsibility – to vote?
For the 100th anniversary of women winning the right in California, the answer is the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area and seven other women’s organizations: the local units of the American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma – Omicron chapter, Links, National Women’s Political Caucus, YWCA, and Zonta as well as 50/50 Leadership. Pasadena City College joins them in sponsoring a centennial celebration Oct. 10.

Simon keeps everyone laughing with her wry spin on ordinary and extraordinary women throughout history with her wacky impersonations. She engages, educates and entertains as she honors and celebrates American women, hoping to inspire heroines of today and
tomorrow.
Her play, “Cheerios in My Underwear (and Other True Tales of Motherhood),” holds the record as the longest-running solo show in Los Angeles. As a writer and entertainer, she is a frequent guest on local and national radio.
For reservations, please call the League office, 626-798-0965 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on weekdays.
Creveling Lounge is in Building CC near the southeast corner of Colorado and Hill Avenue on the PCC campus. Parking for $2 is available in student parking lots off Hill and Holliston avenues. Signs and greeters will help guide playgoers.
