Loma Alta Park Farmer's Market Still Under Negotiation
At Tuesday's Altadena Town Council meeting, county officials told the group that negotiations that have been going on since August to get the market off the ground have still not been completed.

At Tuesday's Altadena Town Council meeting, a county official told the council that the long-awaited farmers market is still under negotiations.
Al Evans, of the County Parks and Recreation Department, said Tuesday that the market could start in the next month or two, but said he is not certain that will happen.

Then from August to November of last year, both the county and its selected market manager repeatedly said the agreement on the market was imminent.

Evans said Tuesday that once the market negotiations are completed, the market will take 30 days to get started so that Shuldiner has time to publicize it and ensure the public knows it is happening.
He acknowledged Tuesday that the process has been "drawn out" and said he had hoped he would be able to announce that the deal was complete by Tuesday's meeting.
p.m. The idea behind the market would be not just to sell to individual consumers, but to bring in local restaurant owners who want fresh produce for their kitchens, Shuldiner said.
Shuldiner has previously announced tentative commitments from the following vendors:
- The Garden of….." produce/flowers (Los Olivos)
- Mother Moo Creamery, natural/artisanal ice cream (Sierra Madre)
- Drake Family Farms, goat cheese,
- Kenter Canyon Farms, produce
- Los Angeles Bread Bakers, a local bread collective who will be milling fresh heirloom organic Sonora wheat flour onsite."
