Meeting on Street Lamp Replacement Project Scheduled for Thursday
The county is planning to replace antique street lights in south central and southeast Altadena.
The county will hold a meeting Thursday on a plan to replace replace vintage green steel street lamps in a neighborhood northwest of the intersection of Allen Avenue and Washington Boulevard.
The lamps have a unique look: They are light green, steel, and very sturdy looking. County officials said back in November that rust, corrosion and other maintainence issues have made it necssary to replace them.
The county has been trying to find a similar pole to preserve the look of the existing lamps, according to the same officials.
