Sheriff's Station Identifies Suspects Arrested After Altadena Manhunt

A man and woman were arrested Wednesday after a sheriff's helicopter and canine unit tracked them down in an Altadena neighborhood.

Authorities identified the two suspects tracked down by a canine unit after a manhunt in an Altadena neighborhood Wednesday.

Eddie Vasquez, 32, and Nancy Carrillo, 22, both of Altadena, were arrested Wednesday after they were allegedly seen riding in a stolen vehicle at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. Carrillo was taken into custody in the 400 block of Mendocino Street after Vasquez allegedly stopped the car and ran away, leaving her behind, according to a news release from the Altadena Sheriff's Station.

Sheriff's deputies eventually used a canine unit to track down Vasquez, who was found hiding in a crawl space under construction in the 400 block of Terrace Street two blocks away, sheriff's said.

Vasquez was booked on charges of grand theft auto and possession of stolen property and Carrillo was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, the news release states. Vasquez remains in custody in lieu of $35,000 in bail and Carrillo remains in custody in lieu of $10,000 in bail.
