Automatic Sprinklers Put Out Fire, Flood Building

The fire, described as small, was out when they arrived, but fire crews remained on scene to deal with the watery mess.

A non-injury fire Sunday in the stairwell of a commercial building in Arcadia was extinguished by automatic sprinklers, but water flooded three floors of the structure, a dispatcher said.

Firefighters were alerted about 8:35 p.m. to an alarm at the building at 444 E. Huntington Drive, according to Verdugo Dispatch.

The fire, described as small, was out when they arrived, but crews remained on scene to deal with the watery mess, the dispatcher said.
