5 Hurt In 2 Train Crashes In LA: Authorities

The city saw two vehicle vs. train crashes in a 24-hour period Sunday into Monday, authorities said.

LOS ANGELES — Vehicles and trains collided in two separate crashes within the same 24-hour period from Sunday into Monday in Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The first incident occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of South Raymond Avenue in Exposition Park, where firefighters extricated two people from a vehicle that was in a crash with an E Line train, authorities said, adding both were taken to a hospital, but no rail passengers were hurt.

The second collision was around 8:15 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of West Washington Boulevard in downtown, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. In that incident, three A Line train passengers were taken to receive medical attention for minor injuries, authorities said.
