A small brush fire that broke out near the south side of the Santa Anita Mall Thursday afternoon was extinguished before causing any damage, a police official said. Authorities responded to the fire call at 2:29 p.m., Arcadia Police Lt. Tom Cullen said. "They put it out with a fire extinguisher," Cullen said. No other information was immediately available.
