1 Dead, 1 Arrested In RivCo Family Dispute, Police Say
A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of a 52-year-old woman in Moreno Valley on Thursday.
MORENO VALLEY, CA — A family dispute ended with the death of a 52-year-old woman and the arrest of a 28-year-old man in Moreno Valley on Thursday, authorities said Friday.
Just before 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at a mobile home park in the 14800 block of Perris Boulevard, where they found an unresponsive woman suffering from traumatic injuries, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Veronica De La Luz, 52, of Moreno Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies called in the department's homicide unit to begin an investigation, which led police to a separate mobile home. It was there that they apprehended a suspect without incident, officials said.

Giovanni Farias, 28, was arrested in connection with the woman's death, an incident that appears to "have resulted from a family dispute," the department said. Farias was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
