San Jacinto Driver, 21, Dies In Ramona Expressway Crash
The head-on crash happened around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, officials said. A driver from San Jacinto died, officials said.

LAKEVIEW, CA — A San Jacinto man died in a head-on crash Thursday morning on the Ramona Expressway in Lakeview when the car he was driving veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a box van, officials said.
Joshua Vasquez Escamilla, 21, of San Jacinto was driving a Hyundai Sonata on the westbound lanes of the expressway around 5:40 a.m. Thursday when the car veered into oncoming traffic, California Highway Patrol said. The Sonata collided head-on with an Isuzu box van, leaving both vehicles with major damage.
The San Jacinto man died at the scene. The van driver, identified as a 34-year-old Los Angeles man, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The cause remains under investigation.
