1 Dead, 1 Injured In Banning I-10 Crash

BANNING, CA — A man was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 10 in Banning.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 10 west of Hargrave Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Jonathan Torres told City News Service that a 2019 Subaru Outback veered off the roadway and rolled over. Two people from Oro Valley, Arizona were extricated from the vehicle, Torres said.

One of them, a male passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The woman driving the Subaru was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

It was not clear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, and the cause of the wreck is under investigation by the CHP.

No lane closures were ordered, as the crash occurred off the roadway.
