Suicide Barriers Installed At 210 Overpass In Inland Empire: Report
The installments come in the wake of the deaths of two local high school students.
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — Following the tragedy of two high school students who jumped to their deaths last year, the city of Rancho Cucamonga has installed security barriers at a 210 Freeway overpass, The Press-Enterprise reported.
Officials hope the barriers will prevent future suicides at Haven Avenue. The site is where three other students — two high school students and one elementary school student — took their lives in 2018, the newspaper reported.
“Projects like this reflect our broader responsibility to care for the well-being of our community,” City Manager Elisa Cox said. “In addition to physical safety improvements, the city remains committed to supporting mental health awareness and connecting residents to resources that promote hope, support, and resilience.”
